As part of Camp Cardinal’s highly anticipated Party on the Half Shell—a signature event in our Virginia Wine Camp Series—we’re excited to feature Rosemont of Virginia alongside four other outstanding wineries. While each winery brings something unique (and delicious!)  to the table, today we’re putting the spotlight on Rosemont, a vineyard that continues to impress with its award-winning Southern Virginia wines and dedication to quality and innovation.

About Rosemont of Virginia

Founded in 2003, Rosemont of Virginia is a family-owned and operated vineyard located in Mecklenburg County, just a stone’s throw from Lake Gaston. The Rose family has deep roots in this land, and their commitment to sustainability and quality is evident in every bottle. They produce 100% estate-grown wines that reflect the unique terroir of Southern Virginia.

At the heart of the winery is the Rosemont Estate, where the family has planted over 20 acres of vineyards, growing 11 different grape varieties. With a focus on quality over quantity, Rosemont is small-batch producer that has something for every wine lover, from their flagship Rosé and Merlot to their award-winning sparkling wines.

The family’s passion for winemaking, coupled with their dedication to preserving the land, has helped Rosemont earn a reputation as one of Virginia’s premier wineries. Visitors to the estate are welcomed with Southern hospitality and invited to explore the winery, enjoy tastings, and experience the charm of Rosemont for themselves before or after a day on the Lake.

Rosemont of Virginia: Sparkling Excellence

Rosemont of Virginia is celebrated for crafting wines that highlight the terroir of the region while remaining fun, approachable and exciting. Their efforts were recently rewarded on the world stage, as their Extra Brut Sparkling Rosé, crafted with 100% Chambourcin, was crowned Rosé Wine of the Year at the Sommeliers’ Choice Awards. This sparkling Rosé is a crowd-pleaser with its elegant bubbles, bright acidity, and delicate fruit profile—perfect for raising a glass at any celebration, and especially Party on the Half Shell!

But it doesn’t stop there. Rosemont’s Extra Brut Sparkling White Wine is also a standout and considered one of the most food-friendly bubbly wines in the Commonwealth, and when paired with Virginia oysters, it’s a match made in culinary heaven. The wine’s dry, crisp nature enhances the briny sweetness of the oysters, creating an experience that’s both refreshing and exciting.
